As we approach International Women’s Day #IWD2025, the global call to #AccelerateAction for gender equality has never been more urgent. At the current pace, full gender parity won’t be achieved until #2158, according to the World Economic Forum. This statistic is a stark reminder of the work that still needs to be done to dismantle the systemic barriers preventing women and girls from reaching their full potential.

Us4Her Africa is at the forefront of this fight in Kenya, actively working to ensure that young girls and women have access to menstrual health products, mentorship, and education. Through our programs, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and inequality by empowering young women with the resources and knowledge they need to thrive.

The Reality: Barriers to Gender Equality in Kenya and Beyond

Despite progress, millions of young women worldwide still lack access to basic menstrual health products, mentorship, and quality education.

  • 500 million women and girls globally lack access to adequate menstrual hygiene resources, impacting their ability to attend school or work consistently. (UNICEF, 2023)

  • In Kenya, 65% of women and girls cannot afford menstrual hygiene products, forcing many to resort to unsafe alternatives or miss school entirely. (Menstrual Health Alliance, 2022)

  • Over 1.2 million girls in Kenya are out of school due to poverty, early marriages, and lack of mentorship and support. (Ministry of Education, 2023)

Us4Her Africa: Driving Impact in Kenya

Us4Her Africa is dedicated to tackling these challenges head-on. We believe that when young women are equipped with the right tools and support, they can transform their lives and communities.

Over the past year, we have:

✅ Provided 10,000+ menstrual hygiene kits to girls in underserved communities, ensuring they stay in school without disruption.

✅ Mentored and educated over 5,000 young women on reproductive health, career development, and financial literacy.

✅ Supported 50+ young mothers in returning to school or starting small businesses to sustain their families.

✅ Partnered with organizations to advocate for policy changes that promote access to menstrual health products and education for all girls.
