As we step into the month of February, let’s chat about our menstrual health a little bit! Yep, as hard as it sounds we're talking about periods, and trust me, it's a journey worth celebrating, a journey of dignity and  freedom.

Let’s talk about the magical understanding of our cycle.

Every month, our bodies go through a magical cycle called menstruation. It's like a superhero power that only awesome girls possess. Imagine it as a monthly check-in to make sure our bodies are ready for future adventures. It’s like the employed waiting for their paychecks to settle bills and above all ‘’Sherehe themselves out.”

Periods are a natural thing that happens every month meaning that you are transitioning into womanhood. A period is when our bodies say, "Hey, I'm ready to do amazing things!" It's a natural process where our uterus gets ready for a potential baby. When there's no baby-making happening, our bodies shed a bit of lining, and that's what we see as our period.

Embracing the Period Perks

The fun part is understanding that your period is a special guest/ a friend that comes around once a month and as such it's a chance for you  to treat yourself with a bit of extra care. Pamper yourself with cozy blankets, your favorite snacks, and maybe a good book or movie.

It's your time to shine while uncomfortable with how your body processes the whole menstruation thing. There's no need to feel shy or embarrassed about your period. It's a superpower, so talk to your friends at school, at home and even at work about it, share experiences, and create a support system that will understand your moods while embracing you.

We're all in this together, and there's nothing to be ashamed of. If someone doesn't get it, it's their loss—they're missing out on the magic!

Educate, Empower, Embrace

They say that knowledge is power, and understanding your body is key to feeling confident and empowered. Learn about the different menstrual products and brands available—like pads, tampons, and menstrual cups—and choose what works best for you. The more you know, the better because you will be  in control of how you feel.

Every girl's menstrual journey is unique, just like a fingerprint. Embrace it! Celebrate the fact that you're part of a fantastic community of young women who are discovering their strength and power despite the shaming in their societies.  Remember, you're not alone, and there's beauty in every step of this journey.

According to the World bank on any given day, more than 300 million women worldwide, lack access to menstrual products are menstruating. If you are interested in this amazing work we do at The Us4Her Foundation whether it’s volunteering or contributing. Please click this link and help keep a girl in school GoFundMe

So, as we walk into February, the month of all and everything love, let's make it a month of self-love, understanding, educating, empowering and embracing our incredible selves. Here's to the journey of menstrual health—may it be filled with positivity, confidence, and a whole lot of girl power!
